Courtyard clean-up complete!

Volunteers working to clean-up Chief Sealth courtyard

It was a wet and wild work party this past Saturday, but the Green Team and Chief Sealth community volunteers got it done! Team lead Ann Marie Bennett rallied the students, parents, and other volunteers who shows up in spite of the weather conditions. With some extra energy from PTSA-provided pizzas and snacks, we were able to get ALL of the bamboo and blackberry vines and roots removed from the space to prepare it for planting this spring. In total 70 work hours were put in to the project - not bad for a day’s worth of work!

Thanks to all who attended and helped us out. Phase 1 of the project is now officially complete. We look forward to posting “after” pictures sometime this spring.
