There are many ways to get involved – take the lead on something or just pitch in for an hour or two.  There are lots of opportunities for anyone who has time or talent to share!

We have an urgent need to fill these positions for NEXT YEAR, spending the last part of this year learning the job from the outgoing board members / volunteers.

President/Co-President –  Responsibilities: Write the agenda for board and general meetings (total of 16 per year), schedule and preside over them. Guide development of the school chapter’s strategy, then communicate. Knowledge: National, state and local PTSA directives, and non-profit governance. Abilities: Understand budgets, project plans, and communication plans.

Treasurer – Responsibilities: Process and accept payments, assign to line items, generate reports and budgets. Knowledge: Non-profit tax and reporting basic accounting procedures. Abilities: Requires accounting software knowledge

Volunteer Coordinator – Responsibilities: Collect volunteer requests from staff and PTSA event planners, match volunteers to jobs. Knowledge: Email, phone and forum communications. Abilities: Requires good writing and verbal skills.

BLT Liaison – Attend the school’s Building Leadership Team (BLT) meetings.

Reflections coordinator:  Coordinate with Chief Sealth staff for student involvement in this National PTA arts program.

College Preparation/Readiness:  coordinate with Counseling Staff and work to organize/coordinate college-related guidance for  students and parents (includes arranging for Princeton Review Assessment, Paying for College workshops, etc.).  There is a wealth of info and resources already available, someone needs to shepherd it along next year!
